Not so long ago, the global premium whiskey market was completely dominated by Scotch. Irish Whiskey nearly disappeared completely, leaving only four working distilleries in Ireland at one point.
 

Fast forward  to now and there are over 40 active distilleries and even more brands – This is in no small part thanks to Irish Distillers and Jameson’s success in the US. Which in turn has coincided with the arrival of a new younger generation of whiskey drinker bringing the Irish whiskey industry into a very exciting place.
